Big Bend picks up a crucial road win at Blue Mountain.

The Lady Vikings volleyball team took another positive step towards returning to the Northwest Athletic Conference for the first time since 2004 on Friday night posting a 3-1 victory over Blue Mountain. However, the work is far from complete and with just three games remaining on Big Bend's regular-season schedule, the blue and green need a strong effort to the finish line.

Defensive specialist Ashlee Adams turned in one of her better performances of the year recording 37 digs and adding two service aces. Dakota Egbert also turned in a good defensive performance with 19 digs of her own.

Offensively, it wasn't one of the Viking's better outings as they hit just 0.25% as a team with Payson Griner, Brynn McKnight, and Sadie Nielsen putting down 9, 8, and 7 kills respectively.

Big Bend (17-11, 7-6) will have the entire week to prepare for a tough road match against Treasure Valley who is close to claiming the third playoff spot out of the East Region. The Chukars defeated the Vikings in their Oct. 5th meeting, 3-1.

BBCC continues to battle with Walla Walla (16-14, 6-5), who won both of its matches last week, for the region's final playoff spot. The battle between the two teams scheduled on Friday, Nov. 8th at Big Bend still looks very much like it will be the deciding factor.

An upset win over Treasure Valley on Saturday could be a huge push in the right direction for the Vikings. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m., and you can stream the action live on the NWAC Sports Network HERE!
