Vikings drop back-to-back East Region matches to Walla Walla and North Idaho College.

It's an important week for the Big Bend Community College's volleyball team.

After taking back-to-back losses last week against Walla Walla and North Idaho the Vikings (14-10, 4-5) slipped into 5th place in the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) East Region standings. It's no secret that the East Region is one of the toughest in the conference, which makes it all the more important that the BBCC bounces back and picks up two wins this week against Yakima Valley (6-21, 2-6) and Wenatchee (1-20, 0-7) — teams they have already defeated earlier in the season.

With just seven regular-season conference games left on the schedule, it already looks like the Vikings playoff hopes could come down to the season finale on the road against Walla Walla. The Warriors (14-13, 4-4) are currently a half-game ahead of Big Bend in East Region standings with the Top 4 teams in each region moving on to the playoffs.

Right now, North Idaho (20-3, 9-0), Spokane (24-1, 7-1), and Treasure Valley (16-10, 6-2) look to occupy the first three slots with the 2019 season heading down the backstretch.

Big Bend will be on the road for four of the last seven games.
