If progress is measured in the win/loss column then the 2019-20 Lady Vikings Volleyball team is in poised to have a breakout season. After an improved 2018-19 campaign saw the team pick up five Northwest Atheltic Conference victories (eight wins overall), Big Bend has almost equaled that win total just a few weeks into the season. BBCC is now 7-4 on the young season after winning their pool and taking second place in the Highline Fall Classic over the weekend in Des Moines, WA.

On the opening day of the tournament, The Lady Vikings defeated tournament host Highline (2-1) before dispatching East Region rival Wenatchee (2-1) to close out the day. The blue and green would drop Umpqua (2-1) on Day 2 to win their pool and advance to the bracket rounds.

Big Bend would take the opening bracket round win over Chemeketa (3-1) before falling victim to a little revenge from Highline in the tournament final (1-3).

For their impressive effort, Big Bend outside/middle hitters Payson Griner (So) and Brynn McKnight (Fr) earned tournament All-Star honors while Ashlee Adams (So) was named the tournament's Libero.

The Lady Vikings are set to open Northwest Athletic Conference East Region play this week with a game on the road Wednesday at North Idaho. The team will travel to Centralia over the weekend to compete in the Centralia Crossover Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
