BBCC Outlasts Treasure Valley in Overtime Thriller
Coming off a win to open conference play, Big Bend Community College returned home to host Treasure Valley Community College in a hard-fought matchup that tested the Lady Vikings' resolve. What unfolded was a back-and-forth battle that required overtime, with BBCC ultimately sneaking away with a 66–62 victory.
The Lady Vikings controlled much of the first half, taking a seven-point lead into the break. However, Treasure Valley refused to go away, clawing back throughout the second half and forcing overtime as regulation expired.
Defense proved to be the difference for Big Bend. The Lady Vikings stayed locked in on the defensive end all game, holding Treasure Valley to just 34 percent shooting from the floor and giving themselves the opportunity to grind out the win in the extra period.
Oaklie Jackman once again set the tone, willing the Lady Vikes to victory while logging 37 minutes of action. Jackman finished with a dominant double-double, pouring in 24 points and grabbing 16 rebounds to lead BBCC on both ends of the floor. Kaliyah Evans also found her rhythm after a couple of tough shooting performances, contributing 18 points on an efficient 8-of-16 shooting.
With the win, the Lady Vikings improve to 2–0 in conference play and will look to keep their momentum rolling as they prepare to take on Spokane Falls Community College this upcoming Wednesday.
