Big Bend Community College opened its 2025 campaign with authority this past weekend, traveling to the west side for matchups against Pierce Community College and the Gonzaga University club team. The Lady Vikes wasted no time proving they're poised for another standout season.
BBCC kicked things off on Friday, Nov. 14, against Pierce and immediately asserted control. The Vikes exploded to a 26–9 lead after the first quarter and continued their offensive onslaught by adding another 26 in the second. Meanwhile, their suffocating defense held Pierce to just 11 total points in the first half, sending Big Bend into the break with a commanding 52–11 advantage.
The dominance continued throughout the second half as BBCC kept their foot on the gas, ultimately securing a 108–33 blowout victory.
Brooke Warren led the charge with an impressive performance, scoring 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting, including a blistering 5-for-6 from beyond the arc. She also added seven rebounds and five assists. Claire Cox contributed 23 points of her own on an efficient 7-of-12 shooting night, while both Emily Dana and Oaklie Jackman recorded double-doubles to round out the emphatic win.
The momentum carried into Saturday as Big Bend took on the Gonzaga University club team—and the outcome was nearly identical. BBCC jumped out to a 37–14 halftime lead and never looked back, cruising to an 88–36 victory.
Reigning Player of the Year Oaklie Jackman led the Vikings with 21 points and eight rebounds, while Warren followed up her strong opener with a double-double of 20 points and 11 boards. All five Viking starters finished in double figures as the team shot 46% from the field in another well-rounded effort.
With a 2–0 start under their belts, the Lady Vikes now turn their attention to their next matchup. BBCC travels to Shoreline to take on the Dolphins on Monday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. before heading to Edmonds for another round-robin tournament this coming weekend.
