Yakima pulls away in third quarter; Big Bend falls, 76-60

Yakima pulls away from Lady Vikes in the 3rd quarter, BBCC falls, 76-60.

The Lady Vikes trailed by just two points heading into halftime, but Yakima Valley came out guns blazing in the third quarter outscoring Big Bend, 26-9. The blue and green would outscore the Yaks in the fourth quarter, however, it wouldn't be enough as YVC held on the for the East Region win, 76-60.

Big Bend (9-8, 1-3) was led on offense by Kayla Luke who scored 19 points (4 assists) and Anna Yarbro who finished with a double-double that included 15 points and 13 assists. Maelyn Mace added 12 points in the losing effort.

The Lady Vikes won't return to action until Saturday afternoon when they host Treasure Valley. The Chukars are currently 8-5 overall and 2-2 in Northwest Athletic Conference East Region play.
