The Lady Vikes opened the season in impressive fashion on Saturday defeating visiting Northwest Indian College, 90-33.

Big Bend jumped out quickly to a 24-4 lead after one quarter of play and never looked back. Sophomore guard Kayla Luke led BBCC scoring 25 points on 11-of-17 shooting (3-of-7 from 3-points). Sophomore Anna Yarbro and Freshman Emily Gorrell each added 13 points with freshmen Kaitlyn Callahan and Mealyn Mace adding 12 and 10 respectively.

As a team, the Lady Vikes shot 57% from the field.

Big Bend will be back in action at home on Friday and Saturday hosting Eastern Washington (Friday at 7 p.m.) and Gonzaga University Club (Saturday at 6:30 p.m.).
