Everyone chipped in offensively on Saturday afternoon for the Lady Vikes as it took a concerted team effort to hold off No. 7 Spokane for the second time this season. The Sasquatch were looking for a little revenge after being throttled at home earlier in the season by Big Bend by a 26-point margin but couldn't stage any late heroics and falling, 65-62.

The Lady Vikes spread out the scoring and owned the glass outrebounding Spokane 45-29. Sophomore Leah Dougherty (Rexburg Idaho) led BBCC scoring 13 points with 3 steals and 3 assists while freshmen Kelsey Sorenson (Price, UT) and Anna Yarbro (Moses Lake, WA) played tough on the boards pulling down 12 and 11 rebounds respectively.  Sorenson also capped her double-double effort with 10 points while Yarbro added 8 points.

It was the third straight win for the Lady Vikings who lost two straight against NWAC East-leading Walla Walla and Wenatchee before beginning the streak. Prior to the losses, BBCC had won 12-straight.

Big Bend currently sits in second place in the East Region of the Northwest Athletic Conference and they are ranked No.3 overall. They are looking solid for a conference playoff berth, but they still have some tough games ahead against the two teams that have given them their only two East Region losses of the season — East Region leader Wenatchee Valley Feb. 20) and Walla Walla (Feb. 27).
