Big Bend Community College Names Dallin Spencer Head Men’s Basketball Coach

Moses Lake, WA — Big Bend Community College is proud to announce the hiring of Dallin Spencer as the new Head Coach of the Men’s Basketball program. A proven leader in player development and program building, Spencer brings a dynamic mix of collegiate, high school, and AAU coaching experience, along with a strong commitment to the academic and personal success of student-athletes.

“Dallin is exactly the kind of leader we were looking for,” said Benjamin Griffin, Athletic Director at Big Bend Community College. “We’re excited about the vision he brings through his leadership, commitment to culture, and ability to develop student-athletes on and off the court.”

Spencer joins Big Bend following his success as Associate Head Coach at Southwestern Oregon Community College, where he helped guide the program to a Top-10 NWAC ranking and a No. 2 regional seed in the conference tournament. Serving as the team’s defensive coordinator, he engineered one of the top defensive units in the league, ranking among the best in efficiency and rebounding. Off the court, Spencer played a key role in fostering academic excellence, supporting a team GPA of 3.64 and multiple All-Academic honorees.

Prior to SWOCC, Spencer served as Associate Head Coach at Wenatchee Valley College, where he contributed to all aspects of the program, including scouting, recruiting coordination, practice planning, and operations. His leadership helped produce All-Region and collegiate-level talent while maintaining a 3.62 team GPA and a strong culture of accountability.

In addition to his collegiate experience, Spencer is the Director and Head Trainer at Black Sheep Basketball Academy, where he has helped develop over 50 college athletes and more than 100 high school and youth players. His comprehensive approach to skill development, integrating film analysis, individualized training plans, and performance tracking, he has also supported the growth of professional athletes.

“I’m incredibly honored to join Big Bend Community College and lead the Men’s Basketball program,” said Spencer. “This is a special opportunity to build a culture centered on development, discipline, and academic success. I’m excited to get to work with our student-athletes and become part of the Big Bend community.”

Spencer, a native of Lehi, UT, played basketball at Lehi High School, graduating in 2018 and continuing his basketball journey to Grays Harbor College in Aberdeen, WA. He holds an A.A. from Grays Harbor College and a Bachelor of Science from Utah Valley University, along with additional academic credentials. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine, expected in December 2026.
