Runnin' Vikes finish 3-0 at Skagit Valley Tournament

The Big Bend Community College men's basketball team got off to a hot start this weekend winning all three of its games to open the season on the road in Mount Vernon at the Skagit Valley Turkey Tournament.

The Runnin' Vikes defeated Tacoma, 70-64, to open the tournament Friday followed by wins over Peninsula (83-71) and BC Christian (94-53) Saturday and Sunday.

Sophomore floor general Kobe Huerta (Covington, WA) led Big Bend scoring 56 points, dishing out 8 assists and pulling down 20 rebounds during the three-day event. Sophomore Joey Andrews (Riverton, UT) also had a great beginning to his season adding 46 points, 3 assists, and 21 rebounds. 

Sophomore forward Miles Brown (Sandy, OR) finished the weekend with 28 points and 21 rebounds;  Seraphin Decker (Sophomore-Las Vegas, NV) finished with 26 points, 12 assists, and 10 boards; and Ben Kuiper (Sophomore-Spokane, WA) added 20 points off the bench.

The Runnin' Vikes will next travel to Spokane (Nov. 30 - Dec. 2) to compete in the Bigfoot Classic. Their First game will be on Friday at 1:30 p.m. You can stream the action live HERE!
