Big Bend men & women need to pickup wins Wednesday vs Yakima

MOSES LAKE — Big Bend Community College will look to remain in the playoff hunt this week when they play host to Yakima Valley Wednesday night at the Peter DeVries Center. With nine games left to play, both the Runnin' Vikes and Lady Vikings are very much in the thick of things. The women tip-off Wednesday at 6 p.m. with the men to follow at 8 p.m.

The Runnin' Vikes are sitting at 3-4 in the NWAC East Region just a few games back of conference leader Walla Wall (5-1).



The Lady Vikes are battling in the middle of the NWAC East pack at 3-4 trailing undefeated Columbia Basin (7-0) and Walla Walla (6-0).

On Saturday, Big Bend will travel to Wenatchee Valley with tips scheduled for 6 and 8 p.m.


Runnin' Vikes vs Columbia Basin College

PASCO — Koby Huerta scored a team-high 25 points and Big Bend beat Columbia Basin 89-76.

Blake Dittman added 23 points and 11 rebounds. DeAngelo Stowers continued his stretch of good scoring games with 19 points and picking up five steals.

Miles Brown also pulled down 11 rebounds. He continues to rank third in the NWAC averaging 9.2 rebounds per game.


Lady Vikings vs Columbia Basin College

PASCO — The Lady Hawks were on fire shooting 65 percent from behind the 3-point arc Saturday and defeated the Lady Vikings, 91-55. Columbia Basin remains undefeated in the Northwest Athletic Conference.

The Vikings hung in through one quarter before CBC started to pull away.

Miranda Johnson scored a team-high 15 points with Hailey Garrity and Emily Allan adding 11 points each.
