The Lady Vikings picked up their fourth Northwest Athletic Conference East Region victory Friday on the road at Columbia Basin and then dropped a match on the road Saturday against Top-ranked and undefeated Spokane. Big Bend has been able to find marginal success this season in their conference considering the East Region features four of the Top 8 teams n the NWAC - No. 1 Spokane (7-0, 26-0); No. 2 North Idaho (6-2, 18-8); No. 5 Walla Walla (5-2, 24-5) and No. 8 Blue Mountain (6-2, 19-6).
With just six games left in the season, the road won't get any easier for Big Bend as they still have to travel to North Idaho (Oct. 24th) and play host to both Walla Walla (Oct. 26th) and Blue Mountain (Nov. 2) to close out the season. They also host Yakima Valley (Oct. 17th) and travel to Treasure Valley (Oct. 19th) and Wenatchee (Oct. 31). The Lady Vikings have already notched wins over Yakima and Wenatchee this season and played tough against Treasure Valley.
We've seen a much-improved Lady Vikings squad on the floor this season that believes they can play with anyone.
