The Lady Vikings will be looking to earn their third Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) East Region victory of the season on Wednesday when they play host to Wenatchee Valley. Big Bend picked up a win over the Lady Knights early in September when the squared-off at the Spokane Invitational Tournament outside of NWAC play.
BBCC will be looking to rebound after dropping matches to North Idaho & Walla Walla — two of the Top 3 teams in the region in their last two contests. Both teams are also ranked in the Top 7 of the entire conference.
"The Eastern Region of the NWAC is currently 1-2-3 in the rankings (No. 1 Spokane, No.2 North Idaho, and No.3 Blue Mountain) with Walla Walla also ranked No. 7," said Vikings Head Coach Michael De Hoog. "It's a tough region to play in and our team is focused on playing at as close to our peak level as possible on every point, of every match. That's what we are trying to do — play our best volleyball, and give our best effort every time out on the floor."
The Lady Vikings have already doubled their conference win total from a year ago, and are making huge strides in the right direction. After Wednesday's home match against Wenatchee, the Lady Vikings will prepare for another tough run in their schedule that includes games against Blue Mountain (Oct. 5) and Spokane (Oct. 13).
