WALLA WALLA — Big Bend women's basketball had checked most of its boxes.

A playoff berth was clinched some games ago and at least a share of the NWAC East Region championship was guaranteed.

However, there was still pesky Walla Walla. The Warriors swept the Vikings last season and handed Big Bend its first NWAC East loss this season.

The season finale proved to be different as Big Bend went 6-for-6 from the free throw line over the final 30 seconds to beat Walla Walla 66-61.

"All six free throw shots the girls knew they were making them," head coach Preston Wilks said.
