Things were looking good for the Lady Vikes at halftime as they led 36-28 over Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) East-leading Wenatchee Valley, however, the Lady Knights came out with a vengeance in the third quarter and outscored Big Bend 22-9 and taking the lead at the 2:50 mark and never relinquishing it. WVC would hold on for the eventual 70-63 victory and now sits alone atop the NWAC East undefeated at 7-0.

Miranda Johnson (SO; Sault Lake City, UT) and Abby Broadbent (FR; Plain City, UT) led the Lady Vikes with 14 and 13 points respectively in the loss.

Wenatchee capitalized on 21 Big Bend turnovers scoring 24 points. The Lady Vikings bested Wenatchee in almost every other statistical category.

Wenatchee Valley now has a two-game lead over Big Bend (16-4, 5-2) and North Idaho (15-4, 5-2) with Walla Walla (14-6, 4-3), who also defeated Big Bend on Monday, and Spokane (15-5, 4-4).

The Lady Vikes should be able to get back into the win column on Saturday afternoon when they host Blue Mountain at 2 p.m. inside the Peter C. DeVries Center on the Big Bend campus. The Timberwolves are currently housed in the NWAC East Region cellar with an overall record of 3-14 and a conference record of 1-6.
