MOSES LAKE — The Lady Vikings picked up a much-needed Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) win Saturday afternoon over the Lady Timberwolves inside the Peter DeVries Center Saturday afternoon, 61-46. The win kept Big Bend in the conference playoff hunt as they prepare for a final push toward the end of the regular season.

The BBCC women used a hot third quarter to push the game out of reach outscoring BMC, 16-7, led by 10 points from sophomore guard Sunnie Martinez. Martinez would finish the game with 19 points including five, 3-pointers.

Four other Lady Vikes would finish in double figures including Leah Dougherty (14 points and 5 rebounds), Hailey Garrity (10 points & 11 rebounds) and Callie Gronning (10 points and 6 rebounds).

Big Bend (5-5 in NWAC) has won its last two games and sits just on the cusp of the playoff picture in the East Region behind Walla Walla (9-0), Columbia Basin (8-2), Treasure Valley (6-4) and North Idaho (5-4).

The Lady Vikes will host Spokane at home on Wednesday at 6 p.m. and still has five more games to follow that include each NWAC East leaders and Yakima Valley.
