Big Bend Community College freshman pitcher Bailey Christensen scattered eight hits and held No. 6 Walla Walla to just four runs to lead the Vikings to an 8-4 win in the opener Tuesday afternoon on the road, but couldn't pull off the road sweep after falling behind early in Game 2. 

GAME 1: Big Bend 8, Walla Walla 4

BBCC touched up the Warriors pitchers for 12 hits during Game 1 with Bailee Nickelson leading the way going 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs and two stolen bases. Dacia Hobbs and Hailey Sandoval each picked up a pair of hits and drove in one and two runs respectively.

GAME 2: Walla Walla 9, Big Bend 1

The Vikings gave up four early runs and couldn't recover in the nightcap. BBCC was held to just three hits, one each from Hobbs, Lynsey Valverde, and Aubree Barney.

Big Bend will continue its longest road stretch of the year on Friday when they travel to Pendleton, OR to face Blue Mountain followed by a Saturday date in Ontario, OR with Treasure Valley. Both of these contests are crucial in BBCC wants to contend for a spot in the Northwest Athletic Conference Championships.
