MOSES LAKE — The Big Bend Community College men's basketball picked up a win over Blue Mountain on Saturday that kept them in the thick of the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) playoff hunt Saturday, 86-71.

Miles Brown had a huge afternoon dropping 29 points on the Timberwolves and grabbing 11 rebounds. The freshman forward currently averages 9.3 rebounds per game, which ranks third in the NWAC.

Freshman guard Kobe Huerta also turned in a solid performance finishing with 19 points (3-of-6 from 3-point) while sophomore Blake Dittman posted 18 points and pulled down seven boards.

The Runnin' Vikes (5-5) in NWAC East play currently sit outside the fourth playoff position behind Walla Walla (7-2), North Idaho (7-2), Spokane (7-3), Wenatchee Valley (7-3) and Yakima (6-4). However, with six games to go, Big Bend will face four teams ahead of them in the current East Region standings.

They will begin a huge playoff push Wednesday evening when they host Spokane at the Peter DeVries Center at BBCC beginning at 8 p.m.
