Game report - BBCC Communications

Wenatchee Valley guard Justin Martin peeled off a hard pick on his defender, drove the lane, and dropped a circus layup with 1.6 seconds to play to lift the Knights over Big Bend Wednesday night in Northwest Athletic Conference East Region play. The Runnin' Vikes were riding a 3-game win streak but dropped the heart-breaker, 83-81.

Four Vikings scored in double-figures led by DeAngelo Stowers who finished with 20 points and 4 rebounds. Both Blake Dittman and Kobe Huerta finished with 18 points, and Mauricio Smith had 10.

It was a tough loss for the Vikings in a game where the lead for either team was more than eight points and a much-improved effort from earlier in the season when the Runnin' Vikes lost to WVC by 20 points at home (Jan. 3).

The loss puts Big Bend outside of the current playoff picture with seven East Region games left on the schedule - four of those with opponents above them in the standings.

The Runnin' Vikes are back in action on Saturday at home against Blue Mountain at 4 p.m. You can stream the game live at www.bbccvikings.com.
